Installing wicks is a small but critical step in candle production. When done inconsistently or outside a controlled process it can slow down filling, introduce variation, and create unnecessary rework.
JAFE’s wick sourcing and installation service integrates directly with our glass decorating process, allowing you to receive pre-wicked containers that are ready for your filling operation.
You maintain full control over wax, fragrance, fill, and testing. We handle wick sourcing, installation, and hardware compatibility upstream.
How the service works

- Wicks are sourced by JAFE from approved suppliers
- Wicks are installed in‑house using approved hardware and processes

Technical scope and requirements
To ensure consistency and compatibility, this program operates within defined parameters:
- Supported container styles: Libbey 917 and 918
- Approved sustainer styles: A3797 and A3799 only
- Your wick must be compatible with one of the approved sustainers
- If a wick does not fit an approved sustainer, the project cannot proceed
- Wicks are secured using high‑melt glue during installation
All wicks are purchased on spools and owned by JAFE. Customer‑supplied wicks are not accepted.
Working with your existing wick specifications
We understand that wick selection is integral to your candle performance.
JAFE works with existing wick suppliers and specifications when the wick is compatible with an approved sustainer. This allows you to maintain continuity in your product while benefiting from a streamlined installation process.
**JAFE does not provide wick testing, burn testing, or performance validation. All testing and final burn approval remain the customer’s responsibility.**
